Astronomy
From BBPA
Our community is relatively free of both air and light pollution making dramatic views of the night sky possible. The full moon can be especially dramatic on a clear night. Visiting the beach on the nights of the full moon are highly recommended to see the full moon reflecting off the ocean. On one night each moon phase near the full moon, the moon rises over the ocean right at sunset. The moon takes on many of the colors of the sunset.

A word to our residents about Light Pollution
According to Wikipedia: "Light Pollution is excess or obtrusive light created by humans. Among other effects, it disrupts ecosystems, can cause adverse health effects, obscures the stars for city dwellers, interferes with astronomical observatories, and wastes energy." We ask residents to think carefully about the amount of outdoor lighting they use and its effect on our environment.
